On the morning of April 7, 2021, Vice President Shi Xin, Director of Academic Affairs Office Zhang Qiurong, and other staff visited the College of Foreign Languages for research and guidance. Zhu Yaobin, Secretary of the Party Committee of the College of Foreign Languages, Zhang Yan, Dean of the College, Guo Haixia, Vice Dean of the College on Teaching and Learning, and other faculty attended the meeting.
Zhu Yaobin welcomed the arrival of Vice President Shi Xin and his team and thanked the school leaders for their concern and support for the development of the College. He said that the College will focus on the upcoming declaration of first-class undergraduate majors, preparation of French majors, and the construction of doctoral programs.
Dean Zhang Yan reported in detail the construction plan of the College in the first-class undergraduate majors, the introduction of French majors' teachers, the work of the second-level doctoral program in maritime language and application, and the difficulties encountered in declaring the first-level doctoral program.
Vice President Shi Xin and Director Zhang Qiurong appreciated the work carried out by the College and responded to the difficulties of the College. Mr. Shi Xin pointed out that the College of Foreign Languages should take the first-class undergraduate construction as a grasp and take the opportunity of the recent revision of training programs and teaching syllabus to formulate professional training programs scientifically and reasonably.
The guidance of Vice President Shi Xin and his team shed light on the direction of the College. The College will gradually adjust its focus and put its efforts into the construction of undergraduate majors, curriculum construction, and faculty training.
