On the morning of March 19, Professor Huang Zhonglian from Guangdong University of Foreign Studies was invited to give an academic lecture in the lecture hall of the Foreign Language Building. The lecture was hosted by Vice Dean He Shaobin and attended by some teachers and graduate students.
In the lecture, Professor Huang Zhonglian shared his views on translation, which provided constructive ideas for the academic writing of translation students. We can make translation research go three-dimensional, combine the necessary morphology, semantics, and usage of any text, and integrate the language comparison, thinking change and cultural exchange to conduct research.
Inspired by Professor Huang, the students had a deeper understanding of the “permeability” of translation and had more ideas on their thesis writing and translation practice. The humorous language and illustrations of the lecture made the students and teachers in the audience gain a lot.
