In the lecture, Mr. Huang Youyi, the interpreter, started from the significance of translation in the era and pointed out that the translation in the new era is no longer confined to the written translation of words and sentences, nor does it simply serve academic activities, but has become an important medium for establishing the Chinese discourse system. He then explained how to build China's international discourse system in foreign translation and how to tell China's story well in front of international audiences with a large number of case studies, pointed out the problems and handling methods that need to be paid attention to in foreign translation with his rich translation experience, and emphasized the translators' awareness of national policy, ideology and cultural differences in foreign translation practice.
Towards the end of the lecture, Vice Dean He Shaobin summarized the content of the lecture and discussed with Mr. Huang on how universities should welcome the arrival of the doctoral degree in translation (DTI). The lecture lasted for two hours, and the lecture was very informative and humorous, which benefited the teachers and students.
