In June 2019, at the kind invitation of Curtin University in Australia, Secretary Zhu Yaobin and Associate Professor Li Fang, Director of International Exchange and Cooperation Program of the School of Foreign Languages, visited Curtin University and formally signed a memorandum of cooperation between the two universities.
Curtin University, located in Perth, the capital of Western Australia, is the largest comprehensive university in Western Australia, with a history of 120 years. In 2017 and 2018, the Dean and Vice Chancellor of the Faculty of Education of Curtin University visited our university and discussed with the School of Foreign Languages about the prospects of international cooperation projects between the two universities.
During this visit, Secretary Zhu first visited Professor Alan Dench, Vice Chancellor of Curtin University, and signed a memorandum of cooperation between the two universities on behalf of their respective schools; then, Secretary Zhu and his delegation visited the School of Education and the School of Media Creative Arts and Social Studies under the Faculty of Humanities, and had friendly and positive discussions with the deans of the two schools on the postgraduate dual master's program and the undergraduate 3+1 dual degree program. The two schools will start international cooperation in TESOL (English Second Language Education) and journalism and communication studies; in addition, Secretary Zhu also recommended and introduced other liberal arts colleges and majors of Curtin University to the Faculty of Humanities, and put forward new directions and ideas for the future expansion of cooperation between the two schools.
