On the evening of June 5, the Shanghai Maritime University Intercultural Competitive Competition was successfully held in the lecture hall of the College of Foreign Languages. The competition was open to all undergraduates and aimed at screening the best students and recommending them to take part in the Shanghai Regional Competition on behalf of the university through professional counseling and training by instructors.
The competition was held in the form of voluntary teams of three students, and a total of 57 applicants were accepted. The contestants presented intercultural cases around the topics of multicultural life, public diplomacy and business communication, and made detailed analysis of the intercultural conflicts shown in the cases. After a fierce competition, the judges selected three groups of first prize winners, three groups of second prize winners, four groups of third prize winners, and decided to select 12 students to enter the training session.
The competition provided a platform for students to showcase themselves and had a positive impact on creating a good English learning atmosphere.
