On December 16, President Lu Jing and his delegation went to Lin-gang Special Area Multilingual Service Center (hereinafter referred to as Multilingual Service Center) for research and guidance. Relevant functional departments and faculties attended the research.
Lu Jing affirmed the language services and practical activities carried out by the Multilingual Service Center, and suggested that the Multilingual Service Center could work on both common languages and maritime languages to provide more language support for high-end shipping services. He pointed out that the College of Foreign Languages should base on the platform of the Multilingual Service Center to integrate language resources of different communication scenarios into effective teaching resources, improve the quality of talent training and promote high-quality development of teaching and research.
Zhang Yan, Director of the Multilingual Service Center and Dean of the College of Foreign Languages, gave a detailed report on the overview of the Multilingual Service Center from four aspects: organizational framework, team building, activity development and future outlook. Dr. Liu World demonstrated the language service text data visualization from the perspective of machine-assisted translation.
Lu Jing and his party also visited the International Talent Service Port in Lin-gang Special Area and paid a visit to the volunteers on duty at the Multilingual Service Center.
