To further deepen the Foreign language + maritime talent training mode of the College and strengthen the cooperation with the international cruise industry, on April 26, MSC Cruises and Shanghai Huayan Marine Science and Technology Development Co., Ltd. were invited to hold a special lecture and on-site job fair for the College of Foreign Languages.
The exchange meeting was attended by Party Secretary Li Pinyou, President Zhang Yan, Foreign Affairs Director Liu Huidan, Youth League Secretary Sun Zhikuan, graduating class counselors, Wang Jiwei, HR Director of MSC Cruises (Shanghai) Co., LTD., Joe Ryan Rayos, Head of Product Development, Ernesto Vanacore, Head of Crew HR, and Li Wei, Manager of Cruise Department and Wang Binbin, Manager of Crew Department of Shanghai Huayang Marine Technology Development Co., LTD. The meeting was chaired by Liu Huidan, Director of Foreign Affairs of the College.
At the meeting, President Zhang Yan introduced the structure, professional classification, and main research direction of the College in detail, and stressed that the college is committed to training international maritime foreign language talents who can serve in shipping, logistics, and other enterprises, to support the overall goal of shipping enterprise language services. Director Wang Jiwei of MSC Cruises had an in-depth exchange on the company's situation, industry characteristics, and career development opportunities, and specifically pointed out that the talent training objectives of the college are highly consistent with the needs of the company, hoping to deepen the experience and advanced practices of both sides in applied talent training, practical teaching and integration of production and education through school-enterprise cooperation.
The presentations and on-site recruitment activities after the exchange attracted students from different colleges and grades of the school. After the presentation, on-site recruitment was held in two conference rooms at the same time, and many students actively participated in the interview with their resumes. The event not only deepened mutual understanding between the two sides, but also laid a solid foundation for further integration of industry and education and encouraged students to join the maritime and Marine business field.
